Group Support
The LEAT Social
LEAT's peer support group meets weekly for an informal social morning in public cafe, creative and cultural spaces around Leicester city centre. Hosted by our Autism Specialist Support Workers, the group is an open space to discuss topics and issues of interest, share stories and updates, build social skills, confidence and connections, and simply be in the community with others.
Newcomers are always welcome.

1:1 Support
Autism Specialist Support/Coaching
LEAT has a long history of delivering skilled, flexible, Autism-specialised 1:1 support and coaching to adults and young people in Leicester and Leicestershire. Typically the focus is on social, vocational, educational, practical and personal development, tailored to each individual's needs, abilities, challenges and circumstances. Support can be at home or, as is often the case, in the community, ranging from 1–2 hours per week to 5–10 hours+, underpinned by agreed, collaborative support plans and careful professional supervision. All support staff are DBS-checked and Autism-trained.
LEAT is proud to support neurodivergent people locally and we are always looking to take on new referrals, either from aligned services/professionals, or directly from individuals and families seeking support – so please contact us if you feel we can be of help to you or to someone you know. Any initial discussions will be confidential and non-committal.
Training & Consultancy
The LEAT Consultancy
With over 20 years' experience helping individuals, families and fellow organisations grow and develop from an Autism-specialist perspective, LEAT is available as a resource to local professionals, employers and individuals seeking our knowledge, guidance and input.
If you feel we could be of help, either regarding specific issues or areas related to ASD/neurodiversity or, more broadly, via our informal Autism Awareness training – which can be delivered over videolink or in person – please don't hesitate to contact us.
*Please note that, at present, we do not offer formal Autism Advocacy and cannot provide this type of service. This is an area we hope to develop in the near future.
We charge an hourly rate for all of our services, agreed in advance and delivered by trained Autism Specialist Support Workers under the supervision of our Service Lead. Support is typically 'self-funded' (i.e. paid for privately by the service user, who may choose to use income from employment, benefits, or other personal finances); or, in some cases, our support is funded by Local and Health Authority care packages (for example, via LCC Direct Payments), which are set up separately by Adult Social Care and/or Community Mental Health Teams.
You do not need to be registered with any specific bodies or teams to refer yourself for our support – so long as you have a diagnosis of Autism/ASD and are able to self-fund, we will be happy to discuss your needs. If this is not the case, you will need to arrange a diagnosis and/or local authority care assessment – which may or may not lead to a funded package of care – before we can take things forwards.
With a strong focus on meeting the community, social–vocational and developmental needs of our clients, we do not deliver domiciliary, 'personal', medical or other such care. Many other organisations/services are equipped to deliver such care locally. We work with young people (age 16+) and adults only.
If you or someone you know are interested in engaging in our support or seeking our input, please get in touch using the details below, or via our contact form.
